NableU for participants
Find NDIS support workers who fit
Search and compare local NDIS support workers by skills, availability, interests, communication style and compatibility, with participant choice at the centre.
What participants can do
- Find workers using support needs, communication style, interests, location, availability and real compatibility.
- Compare clear trust, safeguarding and verification signals without having to inspect a provider's whole compliance file.
- Create participant-owned support requests and review answers to the actual brief.
- Keep sessions, messages, support relationships and concerns in predictable places.
- Use My Manual for private, participant-authored self-knowledge and choose exactly what is shared.
- Keep employment and career opportunities separate from requests for disability support.
How the experience should feel
The participant workspace starts with a compact, configurable Dashboard. You can choose which role-appropriate widgets appear, reorder them and set the page you want to see first. Lists keep their sort and filter choices. Clear status text explains what happened, what remains private and what the next action is.
Attention offers page-aware cognitive support without taking over the screen. Settings support system light or dark mode, high contrast, keyboard use and reduced visual load. Important work can be saved and resumed rather than forcing completion in one sitting.
Choice, privacy and safety
The participant remains the decision-maker. Support coordinators can see or act only within named areas approved by the participant, and that access can expire. Private messages, My Manual fields, notes and billing are not automatically shared. Workers below a participant-specific safeguarding threshold may be withheld instead of asking the participant to assess avoidable risk.
A typical flow
- Set contact, access and support preferences.
- Browse suitable workers or publish a support request.
- Compare fit and evidence, then message or arrange a meet-and-greet.
- Confirm sessions and keep records in one predictable timeline.
- Review the relationship, raise a concern or change permissions when needed.
Current stage
NableU is an early prototype. Matching, settings, role workspaces and several support-management flows are demonstrable, but real identity, calendar, payment, claim and authorised production workflows still require further implementation and user testing.
