NDIS marketplace

Explore NableU’s NDIS marketplace: find support workers, respond to participant requests and build direct support relationships around individual needs.

What is an NDIS marketplace?

An NDIS marketplace is a way to discover and connect with people or services offering disability support. NableU focuses on participant-led matching and direct support relationships. The person seeking support sets the brief, controls what they share and decides who they want to work with. A platform suggestion supports that choice; it does not make it.

NableU is part of a wider organisation bringing Systems, Advocacy and Research together. The support platform is one practical way we work towards greater agency and control.

How do participants find a suitable support worker?

Describe the practical support you need, where and when you need it, and how you prefer to communicate. Compare workers' skills, experience, interests, availability and relevant evidence. You can approach someone directly or create a support request for suitable workers to answer.

If you are searching for a disability support worker near you, location is only part of the decision. Ask whether the worker can do your particular work and whether the way you communicate and work together feels suitable. Read the participant guide to finding support workers for questions to ask before choosing.

Can independent support workers find clients through NableU?

Workers can describe their service area, skills, support style and availability, and respond to participant-posted support requests. Independent support workers and sole traders can explain what they offer while participants keep control of the decision. Organisations retain their own roles and responsibilities; an affiliation does not replace the identity of the person doing the work.

Requests depend on the people currently using the platform, location, checks and permissions. The support-worker guide explains the difference between a support request, a response and an agreed engagement. A profile or response does not guarantee clients, employment or shifts.

What happens after we connect?

  1. The worker confirms whether they can meet the particular request.
  2. You can message and, where useful, arrange a meet-and-greet.
  3. The participant chooses who to engage.
  4. A separate Service Agreement records the agreed support and terms.
  5. Each support session requires its own agreement; making contact does not book it.

Before agreeing, discuss the support, rates, travel, cancellations, communication and relevant evidence. A verification label is not a guarantee that a worker is suitable for every person or task. NableU does not determine your funding entitlement or process support payments and NDIA claims.

What stays private?

Using the marketplace does not give another person general access to your private records. Messages, My Manual information and delegated support-coordination access have their own sharing boundaries. You choose what to share and can review permissions. Platform use does not enrol you in research.

Does NableU charge platform fees?

NableU currently has no platform fees or subscriptions. We aim to keep access free for as many people as possible for as long as possible. Support workers still charge for their work, and the support rate and terms must be agreed separately. This is our current position, not a promise that pricing will never change.

Compare the total cost, support model and responsibilities before choosing a platform.

Current stage

NableU is an early release before version 1.0. Matching, participant-posted requests, direct relationships, agreements and session workflows are implemented. Availability depends on the current release, account permissions, relevant checks and local worker or participant activity. Some capabilities remain in testing or planned. No particular worker, client, vacancy or service availability is promised.
